Introduction

This panel was build as part of control panel for Zababov/FREMO station Lipa and for testing panel firmware itself. Design of panel has relation to prototype CSD relays panel from 60'-90's by AZD company. Construction and firmware can be used also for other railrods panels and ages.

STN firmware support not only basic function like lightening, flashing, recognition of lenght key press, double click, shift, multi state switches and etc. but mainly function of show and control objects of real railroad which behaviour depends by prototype funkcionality.

Mechanical construction

Lipa_St1_ram.pdf

Text - yellow layer
It is made from film with text and holes for keys and lights. The film laid on surface and can be substitute depends on side, language, functions and etc.

Lipa_St1_Cira_folie_490x240_Potisk_Sever.eps - Czech text for control of station from the north.
Lipa_St1_Cira_folie_490x240_Potisk_Jih.eps - Czech text for control of station from the south.

Railroad - red layer
It is made from self-adhesive transparent foil (70-90% transparency). On the foil is printed railroad layout and other symbols which are not depend on side and language. Surface is covered by lamination. Foil is glued to outside panel before mechanic montage of keys and indicators.

Outside panel - blue layer
It is made from 2mm aluminium plate. Holes for indicators, keys, slides and spacers M3 are made by milling cutter. Alluminium can be substitute by 1mm steel or 3mm PVC.

Inside panel - white layer
It is made from 3mm PVC plate and its hold LED's for slides. Spacers have lenght 10 or 8 mm.

Electronic - green layer
In this case PCB STN-A in Tower variant. Blue and white layers have to have holes for spacers 20mm which are used for mechanic montage of PCB. Inside panel can be mount also other PCB's by example PC interface.

The outside panel from inside. From outside has been glued railroad layer. You can see foil on slides.

The same situation from outside.

Keys and indicators has been mounted to the outside panel.

The inside panel from the top. You can see "big" holes for keys and indicators of outside panel. Thay are big enough for substitution of any part.

Electric construction

It is done by matrix of keys and LEDs. One STN-A, Tower can control up to 64 keys and up to 128 LED's. For bigger panels you can add next.

Matrix of keys. Address of key is done by sum of row and column address.
By example panel of St1 of sst Lipa use 32 keys.

Matrix of LEDs. Address of LED is done by sum of row and column address.
By example panel of St1 of sst Lipa use
111 LEDs.

Remeber that LED is not symetric device. You can see mechanic drawing in compare with LED symbol.

STN-E with the same indications which was used in key and LED matrix above.

Column and rows inside the matrix was resolved by combination with white.

You can see whole arrangement with STN-E. Wires are glued by fuse glue.

The same situation with STN-A, Tower.

Inside the panel is placed also STN-A in variant RS232-RS485 as STN bus master nad PC interface.
