Section H0e

Train is waddling through wide meadow near Kunžak, it slows down a little more and conductor jumps out of opened wagon door. He is walking beside the train and picks great huge mushrooms. Then he jumps back in the train, which continues only a little faster on its journey...

When for many of us are railways romantic, then narrow gauge railways are much more. Such that it is no wonder, that in Zababov grown up section, which is interested in narrow gauges.

Main objectives are these:

• Construction of modules of narrow gauge railways in H0e scale (gauge 9mm)

Why exactly H0e?

• We are modeling 1950s (epoch IIIc in NEM 801CZ) as well as FREMO-H0
• Most of narrow gauges with public transport in Czechoslovakia had gauge 760 a 750mm
• Connection of separate railways in bigger transport system brings enrichment to each other and connection to H0-CSD is the easiest one.
• Before World War II was Czechoslovakia connected to Germany by railway Frýdlant – Hermanice/Hermsdorf - Zittau (750mm ), such that common operation with modelers from Germany is possible.
• In Ceské Velenice (CZ) was narrow gauge station connected to narrow gauge system railway in neighborhood Gmünd (until 1950s) and projected, unfortunately unrealized, connection between Nová Bystrice and Litschau could connect Jindrichuv Hradec and Gmünd in one narrow gauge network, such that common operation with modelers from Germany is possible.
• Gauge 760mm was most used for general known logging railways in Slovakia.

How is looking like idea and practice of building H0e modules for common transport system with H0- CSD:

• Modules are built according to restrictions of FREMO H0e, a little more strictly respecting specification of public narrow gauge railways in Czechoslovakia.
• For control of engines is used DCC, modules of stations is not possible use for analog operation.
• Modeling of concrete railway in not strictly ordered, fragments of railways Jindrichuv Hradec - Obratan (Vcelnicka), KBK (Tetín) and fictive private railway Bärentanzbahn (Bärentanz) are realized now.
• Basic modeled epoch is epoch IIIc, but with matching rolling stock is possible to model epochs between II and V.
• Connection of H0e and H0-CSD using trailers (Jindrichuv Hradec, Obratan, Frýdlant, Tremešná, Moravský Beroun, Ceské Velenice).
• Using common four rail track with H0-CSD (Jinrichuv Hradec, Ružomberok), or common depot (Frýdlant, Ružomberok).
• Common timetable in one transport system. Trains of narrow gauge railway are transporting passengers and commodity to/from main (standard gauge) railway.
• Passengers and commodity could be transported between two standard gauge railways.
